Spiritual Guidance Available at the Community of the Transfiguration

 

Spiritual guidance/direction* is available to those who are interested, and to our guests who request it in advance. On campus we have two priests, one deacon, and one layperson who are available.  Sr. Diana Doncaster, a member of the Community of the Transfiguration and an Episcopal priest, is currently enrolled in the Shalem Spiritual Guidance program and has had training in spiritual guidance at the Mercy Center in Burlingame, California.

Fr. Tom Fehr, chaplain to the Community of the Transfiguration, is an Episcopal priest who has been in spiritual direction for over 30 years. He is a graduate of Bexley Hall Seminary. He lived in community for nearly three years with the Common Friars.

Suzanne Olmstead, an Oblate of the Community of the Transfiguration, has been in spiritual direction for over 30 years. She completed her training in spiritual guidance/direction in 2011 with the Sisters of Charity in Nazareth, KY.

Anne Reed is the Executive Director of the Transfiguration Spirituality Center and a deacon in The Episcopal Church. She completed the program in Spiritual Guidance offered by the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in 2019 and has been in spiritual direction for over 30 years.

Mary Shumard has close to thirty years of experience as a Christian Counselor and Consultant. She is also a Lay Minister and Supply Pastor in the United Methodist Church. Mary continues to offer Spiritual Direction and Spiritual Guidance upon request.
