Oblates
and Associates are lay persons or clergy who live out their relationship
with God and the Community in the secular world.
Associates
are women and men, lay and ordained, desiring to live out their
baptismal covenant by following an individual Rule of Life in association
with the Sisters of the Transfiguration. Associates are an essential
extension of Christ's life and ministry among us. Sisters pray for
the Associates, provide opportunities for retreat, spiritual companionship
and friendship. Associates pray for the Community and support the
ministries of the Community as they are able
An Oblate is a
person with a vocation to live the religious life in the world. Each
Oblate will have been in a relationship with the Community for a number of
years. Each lives her own Rule of Life, developed in consultation
with the Oblate Director, based on provided guidelines. Oblates
share closely in the prayer, worship and ministry of the Sisters.
Oblates who do not live on or near the Convent grounds come to stay with
us for a period of time each year.
