Retreat Address in the Sisters' Chapel

Fall Retreat

October 28, 2006

Oblates and Associates are lay persons or clergy who live out their relationship with God and the Community in the secular world.

Associates are women and men, lay and ordained, desiring to live out their baptismal covenant by following an individual Rule of Life in association with the Sisters of the Transfiguration.  Associates are an essential extension of Christ's life and ministry among us.  Sisters pray for the Associates, provide opportunities for retreat, spiritual companionship and friendship.  Associates pray for the Community and support the ministries of the Community as they are able

An Oblate is a person with a vocation to live the religious life in the world.  Each Oblate will have been in a relationship with the Community for a number of years.  Each lives her own Rule of Life, developed in consultation with the Oblate Director, based on provided guidelines.  Oblates share closely in the prayer, worship and ministry of the Sisters.  Oblates who do not live on or near the Convent grounds come to stay with us for a period of time each year.

For information about becoming an Associate, please contact the Director of Associates, Sister Jacqueline.
